Privacy policy

Last updated:

In short: for now no account, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising. Your diagrams never leave your device. The server only keeps, for a limited time, the technical logs it needs to run.

Server logs

On every visit, the server automatically records:

  • your IP address;
  • the date and time of the request;
  • the page or file requested and the response code;
  • your browser (user agent) and the referring page.

This data is used only to run the website, protect it from abuse and diagnose failures. The legal basis is the publisher's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is deleted after 30 days at most, shared with no one and used for no profiling.

The online editor

The editor runs entirely in your browser. Your diagrams are never sent to the server: “Save” and the exports download files to your device.

Your preferences (theme, language) are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device. They are never sent anywhere and are not used for tracking. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings.

The desktop app

  • At launch, it asks GitHub for the latest version number to offer you updates. GitHub then receives your IP address; no other data is sent.
  • The AI assistant runs Claude Code or Codex, installed on your computer and signed in to your own account. Your messages and the open diagram are then processed by Anthropic or OpenAI, under their terms and your account: they never go through macgram's servers.
  • The MCP server, when you start it, only listens on your computer (127.0.0.1) and cannot be reached from the network.

Cookies

The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics tool.

Third-party services

  • Fonts are served by the website itself: your browser contacts no external font service.
  • Installation files are hosted by GitHub. When you follow a download link, your browser connects to GitHub, which receives your IP address under its privacy statement.
  • If you email the publisher, your address and message are processed by Gmail (Google) and kept as long as needed to reply.

GitHub and Google may process data in the United States, under their own policies.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict its processing or to object to it, by writing to [email protected]. You will get an answer within one month. Since server logs are only tied to an IP address, you may need to give the address and the period concerned.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be, or with the authority of your own EU country.

Changes

Accounts and diagram sharing are coming soon. This policy will be updated before they open to describe the data they involve, as before any other change in processing. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
